Meet Kiwi

Meet Kiwi the Cockerpoo

Not every hero sets out to save the day. Some are simply looking for biscuits.

Kiwi is a small black cockerpoo and the central character in a growing collection of humorous children’s stories where everyday dog behaviour has an unfortunate habit of creating unexpectedly entertaining situations.

Kiwi has a wonderfully uncomplicated approach to life. He enjoys Doggo Treats, cream cakes when available, the occasional unattended sandwich, long walks, warm sunbeams, and finding the perfect place for an afternoon nap. Brussel sprouts, however, remain deeply suspicious and best avoided entirely.

Kiwi is not especially interested in grand plans. Most of his time is spent focusing on the things that matter most to any sensible dog: food, snoozing, tennis balls, blankets, and keeping a close eye on anything which might unexpectedly result in any of those things coming his way. The unusual part is that life around Kiwi has a habit of becoming unexpectedly complicated.

How Kiwi Sees the World

Kiwi’s understanding of life is wonderfully straightforward.

If he feels too hot, he looks for shade. If he feels hungry, he looks for snacks. If he feels tired, he finds somewhere comfortable and settles down for a nap. He rarely gets bored because there is always a stick needing chewed, a hole worth digging, and a walk waiting to begin. He is not especially interested in making discoveries because discoveries usually involve effort, and effort is generally quite tiring.

For Kiwi, the world makes perfect sense. Very few situations could not be improved by locating biscuits or simply having a little lie down until matters improve naturally.

What Makes Kiwi… Kiwi?

Kiwi is permanently optimistic.

He is entirely confident in his own decision making and sees no reason to question whether he is doing the right thing. Kiwi is also very clear that if food may be involved, delay is definitely unwelcome. Kiwi does not spend much time worrying and never sees much value in hesitation.

Kiwi has complete faith in the belief that whatever he is doing at any given moment is almost certainly the correct thing to be doing. Which, unfortunately, is not always quite as reassuring for everyone else.

The Kiwi Principle

Kiwi does not actively look for excitement. That would be far too tiring.

Kiwi is not interested in solving problems, saving the day, or deliberately helping the humans around him.

Kiwi simply behaves exactly as any normal dog would behave.

If Kiwi wants to cool down, he looks for somewhere shady and comfortable. If Kiwi gets hungry, unattended pockets may require investigation. If Kiwi wants his favourite blanket, retrieving that blanket naturally becomes the most important task in the world. Then, while Kiwi continues focusing on these entirely sensible dog priorities, events around him occasionally begin unfolding in ways nobody expected. Kiwi himself, of course, sees no reason for concern.

Why Kiwi Stories Feel Different

Every Kiwi story begins with something simple: Kiwi responding to the world exactly the way any sensible dog naturally would. The difference is where Kiwi then happens to find himself.

A search for shade may place him somewhere entirely unexpected and looking for food may accidentally interrupt events already unfolding around him.  Kiwi never changes his behaviour to suit the story. Instead, the story develops around Kiwi.

What makes Kiwi different is that he is never trying to be brave. Kiwi is not trying to fix problems. Kiwi is certainly not setting out to rescue anybody. He simply continues being exactly who he is. Everyone else gets to deal with the consequences.

Children quickly learn one important truth: Once Kiwi decides what matters most to him in that moment, life around him may be about to become considerably more entertaining.

Kiwi’s Story Collection

Kiwi the Cockerpoo appears across a growing collection of illustrated children’s storybooks designed for young readers who enjoy humour, familiar characters, and delightfully unpredictable situations.

Each story follows the same familiar character children quickly come to recognise: the biscuit-loving, blanket-stealing, endlessly optimistic dog whose simple view of the world often creates situations nobody expected.

From birthday surprises and cricket matches to music festivals, magical Christmas adventures, strange cosmic discoveries, and entirely uninvited visits to the gym, every Kiwi story begins in exactly the same way.

Kiwi simply starts being Kiwi. Everything else follows.

Adventures With Kiwi

Kiwi has already found himself at the centre of a growing collection of wonderfully unexpected situations, each one unfolding simply because Kiwi continues behaving exactly as, well, Kiwi.

Whether he is accidentally interrupting a birthday celebration, creating confusion during a cricket match or discovering that gyms apparently contain a deeply disappointing shortage of snacks, Kiwi somehow keeps turning ordinary moments into memorable stories.

Each story allows children to return to a familiar but unusual character whose wonderfully normal behaviour keeps leading to entirely unpredictable outcomes. And somehow, life always becomes considerably more entertaining once Kiwi arrives.

Why Children Love Familiar Characters

Children naturally enjoy returning to characters they know and understand. A familiar character allows young readers to feel comfortable while still discovering entirely new experiences each time.

As children get to know Kiwi, they quickly begin to understand exactly how he sees the world. They know Kiwi loves snacks. They know Kiwi values a good nap. They know Kiwi has complete confidence in his own decision making. And they know that if Kiwi gets involved, the humans around him may need to prepare themselves.

The joy of familiar story characters comes from understanding exactly who they are while never quite knowing what situation might come next.

More Than Stories

Kiwi the Cockerpoo is more than a single book. Kiwi is a growing fictional children’s character appearing across a collection of illustrated stories, printable activity sheets, family-friendly entertainment, and new ideas being added regularly.

Each new story builds on the same familiar character children come to know and recognise over time. This means every story feels both familiar and completely new at exactly the same time.As Kiwi’s world continues to expand, readers are invited to return again and again to a character they already understand.

And children quickly learn one thing. Once Kiwi notices something interesting, life rarely stays quite the same for very long.

Explore Kiwi’s World

Kiwi’s world continues to grow with new stories, printable activities, and new additions being added regularly.

Whether Kiwi is searching for snacks, chasing tennis balls, stealing sandwiches, or simply looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep, one thing is guaranteed.  Life tends to become far more entertaining once Kiwi gets involved.

Take a look through Kiwi’s growing collection of stories and discover what happens when one small black cockerpoo continues being wonderfully, completely, and unapologetically Kiwi.
