Kiwi the Cockerpoo is very happy to join the family on a trip to the local space observatory, although he is considerably more interested in the picnic Mum has packed than anything involving stars, comets or rockets.
 
As everyone settles down to enjoy sandwiches, sausage rolls and cream cakes, Kiwi quietly approves of the day’s arrangements and prepares for a well-earned afternoon snooze in the sunshine. Unfortunately, after a while, the sunshine becomes far too warm.
 
Spotting what appears to be a perfectly cool and shaded place nearby, Kiwi wanders off in search of somewhere more comfortable and soon discovers a quiet little space which seems ideal for an afternoon nap. Entirely unknown to Kiwi, he has just chosen a very unfortunate place to fall asleep.
 
As always, Kiwi is not trying to cause problems. He is simply making perfectly sensible decisions based on the information available at the time. Before long, one unexpected rocket launch, two increasingly worried astronauts, and one highly observant cockerpoo leave Kiwi unexpectedly responsible for saving an important space mission nobody quite expected him to join.
